Casual Dining Built on History

Once home to the village drugstore, The Whistle Stop Restaurant was named after the nearby South Simcoe Railway that offers passengers rides between Tottenham and Beeton from late spring through fall.

For the past 27 years, the restaurant has become a destination for both locals looking for fine dining in a casual atmosphere as well as out-of-towners who stumble upon its charm. Over the years the Whistle Stop Restaurant it has offered diverse menus. The restaurant ambience was set by a large three-dimensional mural created by local artisan Angelo Caruano that’s sure to grab your attention.

Moving forward in 2020 we had to adjust to COVID restrictions and move our menu to TAKE-OUT, with limited dining options.

As 2021 starts, Steve and Clara have decided that it is time to slow down and start to enjoy time together, outside of the restaurant.  Clara is still offering Ready to Bake Freezer Trays for people to order. If you don’t see a favourite meal on the menu, please call and inquire and if Clara can, she will prepare it especially for you.  At this time the regular menu for take-out is not available.

Enjoy the Country Charm Close to the City

The goal of Clara Viscardi and the staff is to ensure you come back often and tell your friends about it. Our restaurant mixes a friendly atmosphere with original gourmet touches that you’d expect from a top restaurant in Toronto – and Beeton is just a short drive from the city. The Whistle Stop has become a popular venue for birthday parties, wedding parties and business events, and it’s also known for varying the menu and offering theme nights throughout the year. There are also special events such as wine tasting dinners and more to explore!

Looking for a meal to fit your new daily routine?

Whistle Stop can accommodate you with our Dine-in/Take Out Menu or our Catering Menu. If you would like something special and you don’t see it on the menu, talk to us and we will try and accommodate for you.

While you’re here, we hope you will explore our town and learn more about its historic charm. For example, did you know before it was called Beeton, it was called Beetown? It’s not so surprising if you also know it’s the honey and bee-breeding capital of Canada!
